It’s a good place to go to rest and reflect, just like the man in the photo who, after a long day of work, decided to sit and soak in the park’s tranquility.

The mountain seen in the background is the protector of the ashes of all the bodies that were recovered after the impact and today it is the grave where many families leave flowers, water and light incense, as the person in this photo is doing, showing their affection and wishing a peaceful journey to those who did not have it when they died.

- 2026 Hal Fulgham Memorial ScholarshipPhotojournalismDiego Fernando Godoy BautistaCypress Woods High SchoolCypress, TexasMrs. Farrell, instructorportfolio: Traveling Eyes In times when the country is politically divided, seeking unity seems like an act of courage. Therefore, events like the Houston Rodeo, where this photo was taken, represent the phrase “home of the brave,” since through heritage and pride, the rodeo provided a space for unity for a few days. This would not have been possible without the workers and collaborators, like the person in this photo, whose work shows their efforts making it all happen.

The person viewing this portrait is a professor at the faculty, and now the responsibility falls on him to recount what happened in those years so that the horrors of the past are not repeated in the future.
