In this collection, we sought to construct visual narratives in a single image, piquing the viewer’s interest and expressing complicated feelings, while at the same time maintaining technical precision and creating visually evocative images. Through these images, we hope to engage the viewer and ask them to be party to our fictional creations.

- Capturing the Weight of a Feather As light as a feather is, the life of the creature attached to it is a weight that can pull the heart down. We were challenged to not only take photographs of birds, but to search deeper into the connection between the wing and the wild. Whether in captivity at the local zoo or scavenging for food in the snow, each creature has its own unique story. Between the little tweaks of a shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings to the time and patience needed to successfully capture the perfect look of the tiny eyes we quickly learned how something which seems so simple can be a photographic challenge and a rewarding way to hone our skills as photographers.
