Rules and Submission Guidelines

  • Schools may enter portfolios in up to three categories. The Top Program will be awarded to the school with the highest number of winning portfolios, with four points awarded for a first place portfolio in each category, three points for second place, two points for third place and one point for honorable mention. If there is a tie, the judges will judge all entries from each school in a head-to-head contest.
  • Sponsoring teacher must be a Texas member of ATPI.
  • Individual students may not have more than two prints in any one portfolio.
  • Photographs should be matted or mounted on 11×14 black, white or gray mount board.
  • We encourage schools not to insert sheets of paper between each entry. This slows down the preparation for judging.
  • Entries in the Documentary/Photojournalism category should not contain digital manipulation.
  • Schools must upload a digital copy of each portfolio to the ATPI contest site by 6 pm on April 19, 2019. Include the required metadata in each image file (instructions here) and upload all 10 images under the teacher’s name.
  • Entry forms and shipping information available in the PDF file.
