ATPI Top Program Award

This portfolio contest for schools offers nine different categories. Schools submit up to three 10-image portfolios representing at least four students’ work.

Rules and Submission Guidelines

    Rules have been modified for 2020-2021 due to the pandemic. All entries are digital-only. No prints are required. Entry fees have been dropped for this year as well. In all cases, schools, teachers and students should follow local guidelines regarding social distancing and masks while working on these entries.

  • Schools may enter portfolios in up to three categories. The Top Program will be awarded to the school with the highest number of winning portfolios, with four points awarded for a first place portfolio in each category, three points for second place, two points for third place and one point for honorable mention. If there is a tie, the judges will judge all entries from each school in a head-to-head contest.
  • Sponsoring teacher must be a Texas member of ATPI.
  • All images must have been taken during the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Individual students may not have more than three images in any one portfolio.
  • Entries in the Documentary/Photojournalism category should not contain digital manipulation.
  • Schools must upload a digital copy of each portfolio to the ATPI contest site by 6 pm on April 30, 2021. Include the required metadata in each image file (instructions here) and upload all 10 images under the teacher’s name.
